Ark Nursery

The Ark Nursery is available every Sunday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for infants – kindergarten.

The brightly colored classrooms and play areas of the Ark Nursery provide a stimulating and fun environment for infants through kindergarten. Our friendly childcare workers provide exceptional care in a clean, safe, secure, nurturing, and efficient environment.  It is our privilege to take care of and serve the children of this church.  The Ark Nursery is so much more than childcare — our goal is to help children be aware of the love and presence of God.

Promiseland Children’s Worship is available for children two years (as of September 1 for the current school year) through Kindergarten during the 8:30 a.m. & 10:45 a.m. Traditional Services and 10:45 a.m. Modern Service.  During Promiseland, children experience God’s love for them through relevant Bible teaching, drama, music, discussion and age-appropriate activities.

During the Sunday School hour, preschool-aged children (3 year-olds – kindergarten) will be transferred to their Sunday School rooms. Infants through two-year-olds will have a short Sunday School lesson in their Nursery class during Sunday School.

Early Childhood

Our early childhood ministry is specifically designed for children age 3 through Kindergarten as of September 1st. During Sunday School, we will have large group Bible story time with a puppet show presented by our fourth grade class each Sunday!  The classes each enjoy additional fun activities in their classrooms.  Mrs. Ollie and her staff follow the Sunday School hour with another portion of the First Look curriculum during Promiseland worship, including a video, songs and games.

Before a child leaves our early childhood ministry we want them to know three things:
  • God made me.
  • God loves me.
  • Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Elementary

Our small group curriculum is designed around age-appropriate monthly themes that include a monthly memory verse, weekly “Bottom Line”, and a weekly devotional just for kids. Sunday School is from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. each week. By the time our elementary kids move up to youth, we want them to know these three truths:
  • I need to make the wise choice.
  • I should treat others the way that I want to be treated.
  • I can trust God no matter what.
1st – 3rd Grade
First through third grade begins the Sunday School hour in The Gathering (Room 213).The Promiseland Band kicks off large group followed by our Bible story and group discussion. Kids then meet with their small groups (divided by grade level) in the rotation classrooms for more fun activities.
4th Grade
4th grade will be presented a Bible in September to kick off a year of “getting to know your Bible. 4th grade meets in room 210.
JAM56 – 5th & 6th Grade
JAM56 (Jesus And Me, 5th and 6th), enjoys Bible studies and service projects during the Sunday School hour. They meet in their own JAM56 lounge in Room 231.
Confirmation Class begins in January for 6th graders.

Special Needs Children

We seek to provide a safe and caring environment for special needs children. We strive to do this through compassion, love and acceptance. Special needs child care is available Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to Noon in the Ark in the Yellow Door (Room 113).  For more information regarding our Special Needs Program, please contact Ollie Kimbro.

The Bottom Line

From birth-kindergarten, when children are taking their First Look at God, we focus on one “Bottom Line” for the entire month to help them better understand one of their three “Basic Truths.”

In grades 1-3, children are growing spiritually, intellectually, and socially following Jesus’ example in Luke 2:52 – the scripture on which the 252 Basics program is modeled!  Elementary kids have a weekly bottom line to help them better understand one of their basic truths.

Parent CUE
gives you the month’s basic truth, bottom line, memory verse, weekly stories, and practical ideas to make the most of everyday moments to instill faith and character in your child.  Based on Deuteronomy 6:5-7, Parent Cue emphasizes times in the rhythm of your life (e.g. meal time, bath time, cuddle time, play time, drive time, hang time.)
